“Dine Drink Detroit” Launches This Week
New restaurant event will feature high quality, affordable food and drink across Detroit

Thirteen of Detroit’s restaurants and bars set to participate in the first annual Dine Drink Detroit, a week-long event featuring some of Detroit’s best food and drink for only $15.

This year’s event will take place from Thursday, October 10, through Wednesday, October 16. With a goal of showcasing the rapidly evolving, nationally recognized food culture growing in Detroit, Dine Drink Detroit includes such highly regarded establishments as Slows BBQ, Great Lakes Coffee, Rodin, the Sugar House, Green Dot Stables, and El Barzon.

“Detroit is building this really vibrant, collaborative community of restaurants and small businesses, and we wanted to showcase that,” said Kate Williams, event co-organizer and Chef at Rodin. “Hopefully, people who go to these places regularly will get to try something new, and people who have never been will come check them out.

Dine Drink Detroit will also benefit the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy. The participating establishments will contribute a portion of the proceeds to the organization, which brings improved access to the riverfront, spearheads economic development, and provides valuable green space to residents and visitors. “The riverfront, the Dequindre Cut – these are spaces we all use and love. We all agreed they seemed like a natural fit,” commented Scott Rutterbush, a co-organizer from Great Lakes Coffee.

Uber, a mobile app-based driving service, is offering discounted rides for Dine Drink Detroit customers on weekdays and free rides for all new Uber users.

The complete list of participating establishments is: El Barzon, Great Lakes Coffee, Green Dot Stables, Mercury Burger & Bar, Motor City Wine, Mudgie’s Deli, Ottava Via, Rodin, Slows BBQ, the Sugar House, St. Cece’s, Traffic Jam & Snug, and Woodbridge Pub.
